Global law firm White & Case LLP has advised a subsidiary of Net Zero Properties (Net Zero), a residential real estate platform based in Luxembourg, on the acquisition and financing of a residential portfolio of approximately 3,300 units from the Zentral Boden Immobilien Group (ZBI).
The acquisition increases Net Zero’s total portfolio to over 14,000 residential units in over 70 locations in northern and western Germany. The goal is to refurbish the residential portfolio to make it energy efficient and to further expand the total portfolio to 40,000 residential units by 2026.
ZBI acts as an asset and property manager for Union Investment and had already sold a portfolio of 7,800 residential and commercial units to Net Zero in 2024.
The White & Case team which advised on the transaction was led by partners Gernot Wagner and Sebastien Seele (both Frankfurt) and included counsel Andreas van den Eikel (Berlin) and Joachim Schmidt (Frankfurt) and associates Marie-Christin Frowerk and Misbah Qamar (both Frankfurt).
