White & Case advises Mehiläinen Group on acquisitions of Regina Maria and MediGroup

Global law firm White & Case LLP has advised Mehiläinen on its acquisitions of Regina Maria in Romania and MediGroup in Serbia from private equity firm MidEuropa.

In conjunction with these acquisitions, Hellman & Friedman (H&F), a global private equity firm which has been investing in Europe for 25 years and has extensive experience in the healthcare sector, has joined CVC in an investment partnership in Mehiläinen. The completion of the acquisitions and new Mehiläinen ownership arrangements are subject to regulatory and customary investor approvals.

Mehiläinen Group is Finland’s largest social care and healthcare provider, operating in Finland, Sweden, Estonia, Germany and Lithuania.

Regina Maria is a leading private healthcare company in Romania, offering a wide range of multi-specialty outpatient healthcare services and hospital services. Regina Maria’s sister company MediGroup is the leading service provider in the private healthcare market in Serbia. The combined revenue of the companies amounted to around €550 million during 2024.
