Europe’s deep tech ecosystem continues to thrive, as evidenced by the recent announcement of the EIT Digital Champions 2025. This year’s competition attracted over 350 applications from high-growth companies leveraging digital innovation to transform industries.

From this impressive pool, 50 finalists were selected to present their solutions to a distinguished panel of investors and industry experts. Notably, 50% of applicants, finalists, and winners featured women in executive roles, highlighting the increasing diversity in the tech sector.

After rigorous evaluation, eight companies have been crowned as the 2025 EIT Digital Champions:

  • CINFO (Spain): A leader in multimedia content solutions, CINFO delivers innovative technology to broadcasters and media companies, enhancing viewer experiences.

  • Excalibur (Slovakia): Transforming cybersecurity by democratising Privileged Access Management with an intuitive, passwordless authentication system.

  • Hopp (Iceland): Redefining urban mobility with its locally owned and sustainable electric scooter-sharing service, helping cities reduce their carbon footprint.

  • Latitudo 40 (Italy): Specialising in geospatial data analytics, Latitudo 40 empowers urban planners and environmental agencies with powerful insights for smarter cities.

  • Macaron (France): Revolutionising urban mobility by unifying on-street and off-street parking information into a single, user-friendly platform, allowing drivers to seamlessly find and pay for parking.

  • Peroptyx (Ireland): Enhancing AI and machine learning applications worldwide through advanced location-based data annotation and model evaluation.

  • Reltime (Norway): Leading in AI and Web3 innovation, offering a customisable SuperApp for digital banking, payments, and identity management.

  • XPDeep (France): Offering the first self-explainable deep learning framework, enabling both technical and non-technical stakeholders to understand AI model decisions.

These champions represent the forefront of European innovation, addressing global challenges through technology and entrepreneurship. As part of their recognition, each winner gains access to the EIT Digital Growth Services programme—a 12-month initiative providing tailored support to refine their pitches, connect with international investors, and secure their next funding rounds.

Turning recognition into investment

Fizimed
Fizimed founders Emeline Hahn & Julien Guay

Fizimed, a French femtech company dedicated to women’s health, was recognised as an EIT Digital Champion in 2024—an accolade that granted them access to EIT Digital’s Growth Services. Now, one year later, Fizimed has successfully raised €4 million in a Series A funding round led by the Fonds Patient Autonome, managed by Bpifrance and UNIQA, alongside UI Investissement.

Fizimed CEO Emeline Hahn noted: “EIT Digital’s Growth Services programme offers unparalleled fundraising support to European deep tech companies, assisting them in preparing for and securing Series A/B funding. Fizimed leveraged this support to refine their fundraising strategy, develop essential materials, and connect with a network of international investors.”

Founded in 2017 in Strasbourg, Fizimed has developed innovative products like the Emy Trainer, a device for pelvic floor muscle training, and the Emy Pump, a hands-free breast pump. The recent funding will accelerate Fizimed’s international expansion—particularly into German-speaking countries and the United States—and support the development of new solutions aimed at improving women’s health globally. Fizimed’s success story exemplifies how EIT Digital’s Growth Services can empower European scaleups to achieve significant growth and make a lasting impact in their respective fields.
