PAI Partners, Bain Capital, Clayton Dubilier & Rice, and KKR are competing for a 5 billion euros worth deal
The mineral water business of Swiss food giant Nestlé is of interest to PAI Partners, Bain Capital, Clayton Dubilier & Rice (CD&R), and KKR that are negotiating a 5 billion euros worth deal, Bloomberg reported.
In November 2024, Nestlé said that by eaerly 2025 it would have carried on the spin off for its water unit that owns the brands Perrier, S.Pellegrino and Acqua Panna and generates a 3.3 billion CHFs turnover. The firm also said that was open to discuss partnerships and agreements as part of its strategic repositioning (press release). Nestlé may keep a stake in the asset.
Between 2016 and 2019, Nestlé fetched 4 billion US Dollars out of the sale of its European and US ice creams production unit that include the Haagen-Dazs brand to Froneri, which at the same time acquired PAI Partners company R&R Ice Cream (see here a previous post by BeBeez and here another post by BeBeez) . In 2023 PAI Partners and Nestlè signed an even joint venture for the frozen pizza production in Europe that also includes the Buitoni brand(see here a previous post by BeBeez).
