Maven Capital Partners (“Maven”), one of the UK’s leading private equity firms, has completed a £2.25 million investment in Glasgow-based Kube Networks Limited (“KubeNet”), an award winning technology solutions provider specialising in managed IT & infrastructure services, cloud solutions, connectivity, voice, and cybersecurity.
The funding, provided through Maven Investor Partners, Maven’s private equity co-investment network, will support KubeNet’s ambitious growth plans, which include both organic expansion and a targeted buy-and-build strategy. A first bolt-on acquisition is expected to complete in the coming weeks providing an immediate increase in scale and offering significant synergy potential.
Founded in 2012, KubeNet has established itself as a trusted technology partner for a diverse range of UK and international clients and is an accredited partner of Cisco, Datto, and Microsoft. The company offers a comprehensive suite of IT & Infrastructure Managed Services, including owning and operating an advanced Next Generation Network offering clients high speed internet services, underscoring its commitment to ensuring that its infrastructure meets the evolving needs of customers who demand performance and reliability. The firm also holds ISO and Cyber Essentials accreditations, reflecting its dedication to data security and service excellence.
The investment from Maven will assist KubeNet in executing its buy-and-build strategy, as well as continuing to drive its organic growth, following a 27% increase in revenues over the past two years, by expanding its customer base and increasing upselling opportunities. The funding will also support investment in marketing, strengthening brand awareness and customer engagement as the business scales.
The IT and telecoms sector continues to witness strong demand, driven by digital transformation, increased cybersecurity requirements, and the shift to cloud-based solutions. The UK Managed Services market is forecast to expand with a 12% CAGR between 2023 and 2027 (source: UK Government). KubeNet is well positioned to capitalise on these trends, leveraging its strong industry reputation and advanced IT infrastructure.
Andrew Muirhead, Senior Investment Manager at Maven, commented: “We are delighted to have secured this off-market opportunity for our investors, backing a well-established, profitable business with increasing levels of contracted revenues and operating in a market that is forecast for long-term growth. We have been impressed by managements’ plans for scaling the business, which includes a strong acquisition pipeline of highly complementary businesses that will expand its service capabilities, achieve operational efficiencies, and ultimately accelerate growth.”
Fraser Ferguson, Director at KubeNet, added: “Partnering with Maven marks a significant milestone for KubeNet and we are excited to work with a private equity firm that shares our vision and importantly, understands our sector. At KubeNet we have a clear M&A strategy to align with our current organic growth, and this investment will accelerate our ambitious growth plans and further scale our proven and innovative solutions to a wider UK market.”
