Malmö-based Re:meat® has raised €1 million in an oversubscribed funding round, backed by impact investor 8+ Ventures, alongside tech investors, family offices, and business angels, including Kristofer Forss (Bastard Burgers), Judith Wolst (SusTechable), Erik Rosengren and Jon Persson (co-founders of Söderberg & Partners), and Skåne Ventures. The company develops modular, cost-efficient cultivated meat technology designed for integration into food production. The funding will support the establishment of Scandinavia’s first “Re:meatery,” a facility for cultivated meat production. Re:meat is also a recipient of a Vinnova grant aimed at accelerating deep tech innovation.

Re:meat is a food tech company developing modular, cost-efficient technology for cultivated meat production. By adapting a brewing-inspired approach, the company enables food businesses to integrate cultivated meat into their supply chains without the high costs typically associated with lab-grown alternatives. Re:meat focuses on scalability and accessibility, aiming to make cultivated meat a viable option for large-scale food production. Based in Scandinavia, the company is backed by deep tech accelerators and impact investors, positioning itself at the intersection of food innovation, sustainability, and supply chain resilience.

“Readiness in times of crisis starts with resilient food systems. By investing in our technology today, we are building a future where nations are better prepared, more self-sufficient, and ready to face whatever geopolitical or climate related challenges that lie ahead. We’ve assembled the right mix of expertise, but more importantly, the determination to fundamentally transform the way we produce meat.“ says Jacob Schaldemose Peterson, CEO at Re:meat®.

Cultivated meat must be tasty and affordable to make a real impact. Re:meat’s modular brewing-inspired and food grade technology is designed for cost-efficiency, making it possible for food companies to integrate cultivated meat into everyday meals – without the luxury price tag. The capital raised will fuel the launch of Scandinavia’s first Re:meatery — think of it as a ‘meat brewery’ led by a ‘meat master’! Re:meat is inviting food businesses to sign up for a Re:meatery already today to secure future resilient protein supply for tomorrow.

Re:meat is STING supported and also obtained the highly compe ve and prestigious Vinnova grant Accelera on of Deeptech companies earlier in the fall of 2024.
