Earlier in January 2025, the company attracted one billion from Google while in November 2024 Amazon invested 4 billion in the business

Anthropic, a scaleup for the development of generative AI that OpenAI alumni Dario Amodei and Daniela Amodei founded in 2020, raised 3.5 billion US Dollars on the ground of a post-money value of 61.5 billion (see here the press release).
Lightspeed Venture Partners led the round that also attracted the resources of Bessemer Venture Partners, Cisco Investments, D1 Capital Partners, Fidelity Management & Research Company, General Catalyst, Jane Street, Menlo Ventures, Salesforce Ventures, as well as further new and current investors in Anthropic.
Anthropic will invest such proceeds in the development of new generation AI systems, the expansion of its computing capacity, deepening the research into interpretability and mechanistic alignment and accelerating its international growth. The scaleup most recent proprietary items are Claude 3.7 Sonnet and Claude Code.
On 22 January, Wednesday, Bloomberg reported that the company attraced one billion from Google’s mother company Alphabet Inc which invested a total of 3 billion in the scaleup. In November 2024, Anthropic secured a round of 4 billion from Amazon, a minority investor that poured a total of 8 billion in the business (see here a previous post by BeBeez).
Between March and June 2024, bankrupted FTX Trading Inc sold its stake in Anthropic for a total of 884 million to Abu Dhabi Sovereign Fund Mubadala (500 million), Jane Street (100 million) and its founder Craig Falls (20 million), HOF Capital, Ford Foundation, Fidelity Management (see here CNBC), G Squared (135 million), Forge Investments (68 million) (see here the Delaware Court file).
