Emirates Nuclear Energy Company (Enec), the atomic energy of Abu Dhabi government, and newcleo, the nuclear energy scaleup that Stefano Buono founded signed a memorandum for a strategic partnership (see here a previous post by BeBeez). The Italian company may attract 500 million euros (523 million US Dollars) from the UAE firm aimed at developing lead-cooled fast reactor designs. In the next four months, the parties could sign a binding agreement. This deal is part of a 40 billion US Dollars investment plans that Abu Dahabi may carry on in Italy, Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni said. Mohamed Al Hammadi is the ceo of Enec. Stefano Buono heads newcleo.
Italian MedTech early-stage Approxima, a spin-off of Milan Polytechnic University, said that Chiara Vieceli joined the company’s board and that attracted 7.3 million euros from ENEA Tech, Biomedical, Panakès Partners (lead investors), Club degli Investitori through Simon Fiduciaria, and other business angels (see here a previous post by BeBeez). The company will invest such proceeds in its proprietary technology. Michal Jaworek, ceo, Edoardo Maroncelli, cto, and scientific advisors of Milan Polytechnic University Riccardo Vismara and Gianfranco Beniamino Fiore founded Approxima in 2020. Barbara Castellano is a partner of Panakès Partners. Maria Cristina Porta is the coo of ENEA Tech and Biomedical.
Italian B-corp NOB 4.0, the owner of digital fintech and sportstech platform Imatra, attracted a progressive financing facility of 5 million euros from CDP Venture Capital ahead of a total fundraising target of 8 million (see here a previous post by BeBeez). NOB-Imatra received assistance from SRI Group Global, Studio Villa e Associati and Mascherpa e Associati. CDP hired Spada Partners and Curtis, Mallet-Prevost, Colt & Mosle LLP. Manolo Bianchini and Luca Celli founded NOB – Imatra.
Focoos AI, the owner of an advanced software which automates the process of creating and training computer vision networks optimised for any device, attracted seed resources worth 2.65 million euros from Galaxia – CDP Venture Capital, PiemonteNext, VC Partners, Vertis, Vento, and Exor Ventures (see here a previous post by BeBeez). Antonio Tavera, ceo, and Fabio Cermelli founded Focoos Ai in 2022. Barbara Caputo is the company’s chairwoman. Focoos will invest the raised proceeds in its proprietary technology and international growth.
Drivesec, a provider of cybersecurity solutions for Internet of Things (IoT), raised 3 million euros from Levante Capital and LIFTT EuroInvest, a vehicle with 100 million worth resurces that LIFTT and the European Investment Bank launched in 2024 (see here a previous post by BeBeez). Giuseppe Faranda Cordella founded the company in 2017. Drivesec will invest such resources in its organic growth and its expansion in Italy, North America and Asia.
Italy’s bnbkit, a startup providing linen logistics services for short-term rentals, raised 1.5 million euros from a pool of strategic investors (see here a previous post by BeBeez) Matteo Campodonico and Maurizio Losi founded bnbkit which will invest such proceeds in its organic development.
Exor Ventures, Vento Ventures, Italian Angels for Growth (IAG), Eden Ventures by IAG, Blockchain Builders Fund, and Moonbase joined the one million US Dollars investment round of New York-based Almanax, a cybersecurity company for web3 and blockchain that Francesco Piccoli and Maxwell Watson founded (see here a previous post by BeBeez). The company will invest such proceeds in its organic growth.
