Claro, a Berlin-based startup building AI knowledge infrastructure for businesses, announced a €650K pre-Seed funding round today to further develop the platform and introduce new features.
The round was led by Atlas SGR, the Italian VC fund, alongside high-profile early-stage European VCs such as Antler, Founders Factory, Fastweb, Plug & Play and D11Z.
Matteo Fava, Co-founder of Claro, comments, “AI is advancing rapidly, but off-the-shelf solutions are failing to meet the needs of many businesses. Many models hallucinate, neglect data improvement and deliver inaccurate outputs, leaving companies without reliable tools. Claro solves this by enriching existing data with external sources – making advanced AI more accessible, actionable and trustworthy for businesses.”
Founded in 2024 by Matteo Fava and Tameesh Biswas, Claro enables businesses to turn “messy, unstructured data” into custom, actionable models and agents.
Fava and Biswas met during a founder residency in Berlin run by Antler, an active early-stage VC firm in Europe. Fava spent ten years leading data strategy at Delivery Hero. Before that, he worked at Rocket Internet and Wolters Kluwer. Biswas was a researcher in NLP whose work was published in journals such as the MIT Press. Previously, he worked as a software developer at Yelp and Autodesk.
Claro develops tailor-made, highly accurate AI models that deliver high-value automation and insights for businesses based on their existing data.
According to Claro, most businesses rely on outdated, fragmented data – juggling between Excel, inconsistent historical data, and manual data systems. Trying to classify and extract insights from this data is time-consuming and error-prone, which makes it challenging for businesses to make important business decisions objectively.
Claro has built an AI knowledge infrastructure that extracts insights from data sets to deliver precise, actionable business value. Claro generates tailor-made models for businesses using bespoke AI models. This puts “world-class AI” into the hands of businesses in a cost-effective way.
Christoph Klink, Partner at Antler, comments, “Matteo and Tameesh combine technical expertise, deep understanding of AI and data management, and experience building in startup environments. They are creating a solution that puts world-class AI in the hands of businesses, allowing them to make AI-powered business decisions on a daily basis. They are a great founding team building a company that will have a positive impact on thousands of business owners. It’s been a pleasure working with them and I have every confidence in their future success.”
The funding will be used to further develop the Claro platform and introduce new features such as automated onboarding and automatic model generation.
