Vigo-based Vancubic, a startup specialising in modular camper conversion solutions, has secured a €500k funding round in order to accelerate its international expansion, with a focus on Europe, diversify its product range to fit a wider variety of vans, and develop tailored solutions for businesses.
The funding round was led by Faraday with participation from Eoniq Fund, Aticco Ventures and Crowdcube.
Jordán Díaz, CEO and Co-founder, stated: “This investment will allow us to grow in key markets and expand our product offering for both individuals and businesses. We are thrilled to have Faraday, Eoniq, Aticco, and Crowdcube as strategic partners in this new phase.”
Founded in 2020 by Iván Bastero and Jordán Díaz, Vancubic was born from a simple yet practical idea. The inspiration came from a friend of Bastero who purchased a high-mileage second-hand van with the goal of converting it into a camper. This sparked the initial hand-drawn sketches of what would later become Vancubic, as he worked to develop a modular system compatible with various van models.
Vancubic consists of two modules that rest inside the van’s body, secured with approved slings without requiring any permanent fixtures. The design eliminates the need for structural modifications, making installation straightforward. From a legal standpoint, it is classified as cargo, meaning no additional approvals or certifications are necessary.
Vancubic has developed a range of innovative modular products for van conversions, enabling easy and efficient customisation for individuals and businesses. The company has successfully completed various van conversion projects for major corporations, including Red Bull and Dulcesol.
Their design promises efficient wastewater management, the use of local suppliers and the choice of quality materials to ensure quality and durable design.
Their current catalogue offers three models: Basic, Loft, and Premium. Each including a range of installations such as a portable gas stove, a floating table, an indoor and outdoor shower cabinet, a 110W portable solar panel, and even an upholstered sofa.
A minimum box length of 2.70 meters and a height of 1.90 meters is required.
This investment will enable the company to accelerate its international expansion, with a focus on Europe, diversify its product range to fit a wider variety of vans, and develop tailored solutions for businesses. This capital injection will drive Vancubic’s continued growth, strengthening its position as a leader in the modular mobility and van life industry, with versatile, sustainable, and customizable systems.
Jaime Biel, Managing Partner at Faraday, added: “Vancubic perfectly embodies the combination of innovation and adaptability in a rapidly expanding sector, driven by the increasing demand for flexible mobility solutions. With this investment, we are confident that the company will accelerate its growth and establish itself as a benchmark in modular camper conversion in Europe. We believe in a team with an innovative vision and outstanding execution.”
This investment will strengthen Vancubic’s presence in a growing sector, capitalising on the demand for accessible and innovative solutions that transform vans into multifunctional spaces tailored to customer needs.
