Camden Council is inviting tenants, landlords, property agents and anyone with experience or an interest in the private rented housing sector to have their say on the council’s current licensing scheme for Houses in Multiple Occupation (HMOs).
HMOs in the borough are shared homes, including house and flat shares, student homes, bedsits, and some buildings converted into flats.
In Camden, landlords are required to have an additional licence if they own or manage a HMO.
Launched in 2015, the scheme is reviewed every five years. A consultation is now open for residents, tenants, landlords, agents, businesses and service providers in Camden and the surrounding areas to share their views and help shape the future of HMO licensing in the borough.
The consultation began on Monday 27 January and will close at midnight on Tuesday 8 April 2025. Find out more about HMO licensing and share your views by clicking here.
Drop-in sessions will be taking place at local libraries for residents to find out more about the scheme and share their views:
