Capra Robotics®, a Danish company specializing in mobile robotics, has raised €11.3M in a seed investment round led by Supernova Invest and Promus Ventures, with additional support from Summiteer and EIFO. The company designs robots for logistics, inspection, and maintenance tasks, aiming to reduce reliance on manual labor in industries facing labor shortages and rising costs. The funding will be used to accelerate Capra Robotics’® global expansion and growth, particularly by building partnerships with distributors and system integrators, and increasing its workforce in key markets like Europe and North America. The company’s innovative robots, capable of operating both indoors and outdoors, aim to streamline operations across sectors like energy infrastructure, manufacturing, and logistics.
Since its foundation, Capra Robotics® has been powered by its vision of creating mobile robots to help people wherever they go. This goal is achieved by offering adaptable, standardized solutions for companies within inspection, logistics, and maintenance, addressing the growing need to eliminate dull, dirty, and dangerous tasks.
Amid historically low unemployment rates, rising labor costs, and an aging population, companies must move away from heavy reliance on manual processes to remain competitive, scale their operations, and uphold conformity with existing process standards. This requires innovative robotics solutions capable of handling a wide range of tasks – including those in emerging domains.
“At Supernova Invest, we are confident that CAPRA’s solution will accelerate the global adoption of Autonomous Mobile Robots (AMR). Its ease of implementation and competitive edge position CAPRA to unlock a wide range of new applications, addressing critical labor shortages and delivering significant productivity gains across industries. Niels’ outstanding expertise and proven success in mobile robotics is invaluable, we are excited to support this new venture and contribute to its future success,” says Claude-Sébastien Lerbourg, Investment Director at Supernova Invest.
A view shared by Mike Collett, Founder and Managing Partner at Promus Ventures: “We are excited to work with Niels and the entire Capra team to help redefine how autonomous mobile robots operate across numerous environments and platforms. Few AMR companies have the vast experience and proven success as Niels and the Capra team within the robotics industry. We believe this round will further fuel its strong growth and position the company to further scale globally.”
Dominik Bär, Partner at Summiteer, emphasizes the potential of the company: “Capra Robotics’ pioneering approach to mobile robotics, particularly in challenging environments, addresses a rapidly growing need for automation. We look forward to supporting Niels, Lars and their highly skilled team as they continue to scale their business and pursue their vision.”
“With their unique AI-driven mobile robot solutions Capra Robotics automates logistical challenges in some of the largest international industrial companies. At the same time, they make it possible to inspect and monitor hard-to-reach critical energy infrastructure. These are two important agendas for EIFO – and since we are very impressed with the management team’s innovative abilities and plans for the future, we are excited to support their journey and continued impact worldwide,” says Simon Frederik Loft Øelund, Tech Investor at EIFO.
“The investment depicts a strong group of investors’ confidence in our vision and the scale of opportunities ahead,” said Niels Jul Jacobsen, CEO of Capra Robotics®. Having investors from both the US and Europe not only strengthens our ability to scale rapidly but also provides invaluable insights and networks that will help us expand into new markets and better serve our customers and partners across the globe.”
What sets Capra Robotics® apart from the competition is its highly innovative and versatile kinematics, which is suitable for both indoor and outdoor applications. The patented wheel frame enables it to solve automation needs across several industries with its generic high-runner solutions and world-class robot platform empowering solution partners to develop tailored applications. This innovative approach positions Capra Robotics as a pivotal force driving transformation in logistics, inspection, and maintenance.
