ScaleUp Technologies, a German cloud and data center service provider, has acquired a data center outside Nuremberg.
The company recently announced the acquisition of local ISP OnlineDienst Nordbayern (ODN), taking over a data center in Nuremberg-Fürth. Terms of the deal were not shared.
The 2,000 sqm (21,525 sq ft) partially free-cooled facility is located at Hermann-Glockner-Str. 7 in Fürth and was launched in 2014.
"With the acquisition of the ODN data center, we are taking an important step forward in our corporate strategy," said Christoph Streit, CEO of ScaleUp Technologies. "By acquiring our own data center, we are not only securing another strategic location in central Germany, but also gaining valuable know-how for the sustainable operation of our own data centers."
Founded in 1998 as Internet4You, ScaleUp operates out of eight data center locations in Hamburg (x3), Berlin (x3), Nuremberg-Fürth, and Düsseldorf. It provides hosting, bare metal, colocation, cloud, and managed services.
Founded in 1997, ODN was a local ISP and cloud services provider.
Fürth is a city outside Nuremberg in northern Bavaria, in the administrative division of Middle Franconia.
