Appointment of acquisition director set to supercharge Spicerhaart expansion plan

Joel Osbourne (left) with Antony Lark

Spicerhaart’s first ever acquisitions director has urged any business owners wanting to sell to get in touch as he looks to spearhead the company’s exciting expansion strategy.

Joel Osbourne, 45, will be helping Spicerhaart identify agencies to acquire and then integrating them into the independent property services business.

Having started his career in lettings, Osbourne eventually took on a similar role at Leader Romans Group (LRG) where he had huge success expanding their portfolio.

“I can’t wait to get going and get the first acquisition under my belt,” he said. “It’s such an exciting role and is perfectly suited to me.”

Osbourne continued: “I started my career as a lettings consultant way back in 1999, and having an understanding of how that side of the business works will definitely benefit me here.

“We will be looking to bring in businesses in geographical areas where we don’t currently have a footprint, but also portfolio acquisitions which might help strengthen us in areas where we already have branches.

“But all the acquisitions have got to consider the value, not just in terms of pounds and pence, but also how it will add value to Spicerhaart.

“I would love to hear from anybody that is considering selling, even if they don’t want to do so immediately.

“All conversations can be completely confidential, and I’m looking forward to meeting people across the country.”

Antony Lark, Spicerhaart Joint CEO, said: “We have a huge ambition to grow our footprint, adding value to our existing business operations.

“It’s great to have Joel on board who brings a wealth of experience to the role, to help us deliver our objectives.”

Founder and chairman, Paul Smith, added: “We’re looking to acquire businesses that share our vision and values and possess a high-performance culture and Joel is the right man to lead this search, and integrate them into Spicerhaart.”

Carter Jonas names new national head of residential sales

Dominic Bruneau

Carter Jonas has appointed Dominic Bruneau to the newly created role as national head of residential sales.

In this role, Bruneau will join the firm’s residential board, which is led by head of residential, Lisa Simon. This appointment comes as the business prepares to launch its next five-year strategy.

Bruneau brings over 30 years of experience in estate agency, having been both a director and business owner, and has a strong background in business leadership, coaching and assessment.

He began his career at General Accident Estate Agents (Aviva UK), eventually becoming the divisional sales director, overseeing 44 offices across the South East. Following this, he spent several years at Dexters and was appointed London MD following the acquisition of nine branches in West London. Bruneau then spent 10 years as MD at Bourne Estate Agents, where he established a culture of collaboration and quality, leading to the strategic expansion of the business and increased profitability.

Most recently, he has worked as a consultant with leading estate agents, providing innovation training and coaching programs designed to help individuals succeed.

In his new role, Bruneau will leverage his extensive knowledge to oversee Carter Jonas’ network of 14 residential sales teams across the UK.

Bruneau said: “I am very much looking forward to playing my part in driving growth across Carter Jonas’ residential sales business.

“I am privileged to be working with and developing the talented individuals and teams within the partnership and building on the excellent foundations already in place. Carter Jonas aligns with my own beliefs that we must always benefit our clients and focus on these relationships when driving our growth.”

Lisa Simon commented: “Dominic joins us at an important and exciting time for our business as we aim to drive growth with our new five-year strategy. He has an excellent reputation in our market and is well-recognised for his ability to manage multiple offices by harnessing the energy and talents of his teams to bring out the very best in people.

“With a passion for our sector and skill for coaching, he is eager to share his knowledge and experience to cultivate and develop talent. He has a solid foundation on which to build this growth.
