Copenhagen-based Dynelectro, a specialist in solid oxide electrolysis systems, has formalized its collaboration with Italian technology provider SolydEra to deliver a 1 MW electrolyser by September 2025. Leveraging Dynelectro’s expertise in designing efficient and flexible MW-scale electrolyser units, the project aims to support green hydrogen production for European Energy, utilizing electricity from wind power. The partnership builds on four years of joint development, with Dynelectro leading efforts to integrate advanced stack technology into scalable solutions for industries like aviation and petrochemicals. This electrolyser is set to play a critical role in enabling low-carbon energy systems at an industrial scale.
Dynelectro, established in 2018 and based in Denmark, focuses on the development of solid oxide electrolysis systems for industrial-scale hydrogen production. The company’s technology emphasizes efficiency and adaptability, enabling operators to optimize production in response to renewable energy availability. Its dynamic electrolyser units are designed to meet the needs of industries such as transportation, aviation, and petrochemicals, supporting the transition to cleaner energy systems.
“We are thrilled to solidify our partnership with Dynelectro,” said Alexander Liberov, CEO of SolydEra. “This agreement not only underscores our commitment to innovation but also paves the way for groundbreaking advancements. This co-creation is already seeing incredible results if we think that in less than one year a 1-MW dynamic electrolyser unit delivering up to 30 kg/hr of hydrogen will be delivered to the Danish company European Energy that will be producing green hydrogen by splitting water using the electricity generated in their wind farm.”
SolydEra, headquartered in Trentino Alto Adige, Italy, designs and manufactures solid oxide cells and stacks for fuel cell and electrolysis applications. The company operates production and research facilities across Italy, Switzerland, and Australia. SolydEra’s technology aims to deliver efficient and durable solutions to support hydrogen and ammonia production, contributing to the decarbonization of industrial processes.
The expanded cooperation will leverage Solydera’s advanced Solid Oxide Electrolysis technologies and Dynelectro’s expertise in industrial applications to develop innovative, efficient and scalable solutions to deliver cutting-edge solutions that support the production of green hydrogen and ammonia, essential components in the transition to a low-carbon economy.
As part of the Collaboration Agreement, SolydEra will serve as a solid oxide stack and technology provider to Dynelectro. A comprehensive framework will leverage the companies’ expertise, strengths and resources that will enable the partners to drive forward groundbreaking innovation and deliver exceptional solutions to their stakeholders.
“This represents the culmination of four years of collaboration and shared innovation between our teams,” explains Sune Lilbæk, CEO of Dynelectro. “By combining our expertise in high-efficiency electrolysis with SolydEra’s robust stack technology, we are poised to deliver a scalable solution for affordable hydrogen, a critical feedstock in aviation, transportation and petro-chemical industries. This is a significant step forward in meeting the growing market demand for clean energy solutions across industries.”
