Global law firm White & Case LLP has promoted 22 lawyers to local partner and 27 lawyers to counsel.
“Representing 12 global practices and 21 offices across the Americas, EMEA and Asia-Pacific, the 49 lawyers being promoted have a wide range of skills, experience and backgrounds that underline the diverse and truly global nature of White & Case,” said White & Case Chair Heather McDevitt. “They have all made significant contributions to the Firm’s success through the exceptional service they provide to our clients, and we are proud to see them take this important step in their careers.”
In addition to the internal promotions, White & Case has hired 13 local partners and 19 counsel during 2024 to date.
At White & Case, the position of local partner is offered in select regions and locations where it is common market practice including Mexico in the Americas; Belgium, the Czech Republic, Germany, Italy, the Middle East, Poland, South Africa and Spain in EMEA; and China, Japan and Korea in Asia-Pacific. It is a recognized career step toward admission into Firm partnership.
The role of counsel is for senior lawyers with significant experience in a particular practice area. The title is used across White & Case, in all offices, usually as an alternative career path to partnership.
The promotions are effective January 1, 2025.
