Tallinn-based buyback platform provider Fairown has partnered with iSpot Poland, an Apple Premium Partner, and BNP Paribas Bank Polska to launch iSpot upgrade+, a financing program aimed at increasing affordable access to Apple devices in Poland. This program introduces flexible ownership options, allowing consumers to pay monthly for the time they use their Apple devices and to upgrade or return them after a few years. With a focus on circular economy principles, iSpot upgrade+ encourages device reuse and aligns with changing consumer preferences for sustainable, temporary ownership. This partnership combines Fairown’s buyback platform, iSpot’s retail expertise, and BNP Paribas’s financing solutions, marking a unique approach to consumer technology access and sustainability.

Headquartered in Tallinn, Estonia, Fairown is a fintech company specializing in innovative buyback and circular economy solutions for sustainable product ownership. The company provides a platform that allows consumers to access high-value devices through affordable, flexible financing, with the option to upgrade or return them. Fairown’s model encourages circular consumption by facilitating the reuse of products, thereby reducing electronic waste and promoting sustainable practices in consumer tech.

Hendrik Roosna, CEO at Fairown celebrated the partnership, “Since we launched in Poland two years ago, we’ve managed to partner up with iSpot, the largest Apple Premium Partner in the country. iSpot is ambitious in increasing their market share by making high-quality products more affordable and extending their useful life. These are key values in our buyback solution that sets iSpot’s offering apart. We’re honoured to be a trusted partner in supporting their growth.”

As Poland’s largest Apple Premium Partner (APP), iSpot Poland is dedicated to providing consumers with high-quality Apple products and services. iSpot operates across 47 stores in Poland, connecting consumers to Apple’s latest technology, from iPhones and iPads to MacBooks and Apple Watches. Part of the larger portfolio of 1923 Investments plc, a diversified holding company owned by Hili Ventures, iSpot is committed to customer-centric service and environmental responsibility.

Tomasz Nawrocki, COO at iSpot commented, “The innovative iSpot upgrade+ financing model allows us to offer Apple devices to a wider range of customers. We’re always committed to ensuring that our customers have access to the latest technological advancements of Apple products on the most favourable financing conditions while supporting the circular economy. iSpot upgrade+ delivers exactly that – a highly competitive monthly cost of ownership and the possibility to upgrade devices. We are proud to be the first in implementing this programme in Poland and strengthen our competitive advantage.”

Leading merchants across Europe seek to offer Fairown’s solution to gain a competitive edge.

Renowned brands like Komplett, the largest Nordic e-commerce player, STIHL, the German power tools manufacturer, BSH BlueMovement, the German household appliances provider, and Apple Premium Resellers in Norway and Germany already offer the benefits of buyback to their customers. These include more affordable prices, a flexible way of ownership, and sustainable consumption through product reuse.

Fairown’s affordable buyback solution has high traction across Europe – 100,000+ consumers prefer it to any other payment option. The company has expanded at a rapid speed, offering its solution in nine countries, from the Baltics and Nordics, to Germany.

Polish merchants are next to enjoy the upsides of buyback, from recurring sales and increased customer loyalty, to lower environmental impact.

Consumer behaviour has changed as trends of flexibility and sustainability are thriving. 74% of consumers prefer experiences over product ownership, and 90% of Gen Z consumers believe that companies have to address environmental issues. Poland is no different as people love to take responsibility for owning their devices.

Product buyback, that fuels the iSpot upgrade+ programme, covers both fronts, while representing the latest form of consumer financing. It’s a unique offering in Poland, bringing three main benefits to consumers: affordable credit, flexible ownership, and guaranteed buyback value.

Consumers only pay for the time of using their Apple device, allowing for low monthly instalments. This brings affordable access to the latest and greatest Apple devices, such as iPhones, iPads, Apple Watches, and MacBooks.

Buyback also provides full flexibility regarding the product. After 2-3 years of use, consumers can choose to keep the product or easily switch to a new model. They are guaranteed a fair buyback value for their device upon return.

BNP Paribas Bank Polska, a member of the global BNP Paribas Group, operates as one of Poland’s leading consumer finance providers, with a focus on sustainable financial solutions and supporting the transition to a low-carbon economy. Listed on the Warsaw Stock Exchange, BNP Paribas Bank Polska serves retail, wealth management, and corporate clients through innovative digital services and products designed for financial inclusivity and convenience. BNP Paribas has implemented various green finance initiatives, such as funding residential photovoltaic installations and supporting strategic investments for Poland’s economy.

This cooperation is a game changer, bringing together top industry know-how. It introduces temporary product ownership via embedded consumer financing, combining affordability, flexibility, and ownership. All partners bring their unique strengths to the table. From iSpot’s trusted brand in selling Apple devices, Fairown’s innovative payment platform, and BNP Paribas Bank Polska’s stability in product financing.

Rafał Makowski, Managing Director of the Consumer Finance Sales Line at BNP Paribas Bank Polska S.A. said, “We are proud to be part of launching iSpot upgrade+. We have been cooperating with iSpot for over 12 years, providing financial solutions that allow customers to access high-quality Apple devices. We are convinced that this programme meets customer expectations and supports sustainable development principles. Thanks to the partnership, customers get attractive financing conditions and the opportunity to resell and upgrade their devices, supporting reuse and the circular economy.”

Roosna concluded, “We’ve seen iSpot’s efforts in offering a whole suite of affordable services to fulfil consumer needs. Building up on various payment options, such as rental and trade-in, buyback is a natural extension in the list. iSpot now has a programme that combines credit and product buyback, allowing for flexible ownership that nails consumer interest.”

iSpot upgrade+ is available online at ispot.pl and in all 47 iSpot showrooms. As the largest APP in Poland, iSpot is expanding rapidly and as new stores are added, the programme will be available to more and more consumers.
