TCC, an emerging telemedicine and AI provider based in Germany has successfully raised €20 million in Series A funding. The round, led by Captain Thomas Pötzsch, a German shipping and logistics entrepreneur, marks a significant step in TCC’s mission to bring scalable tele-intensive care solutions to hospitals. Beyond financial backing, Captain Pötzsch will provide personal guidance, supporting TCC’s plans to digitalise and expand access to outpatient care in line with hospital reform goals.
TCC was founded in 2022 to deliver remote support for intensive care units (ICUs) through AI-enhanced tools. The company focuses on developing algorithms that process high-frequency vital data to assist with real-time patient monitoring. Its digital dashboards facilitate cross-sector communication among healthcare providers, promoting a connected approach to patient care. “With this successful financing round, we are in a position to drive forward our successful algorithm development programme on the way to a holistic digital twin,” says Prof. Dr. Christian Storm, TCC’s CEO and co-founder.
TCC’s services are already in place across several hospitals, including Unfallkrankenhaus Berlin, Krankenhaus Region Hannover, and the University Medical Centre Schleswig-Holstein. The company’s team of over 10 intensive care physicians offers 24/7 telemedical support, risk assessment, and preventive care from its Hamburg and Berlin offices. TCC’s telehealth services currently manage more than 3,000 beds worldwide, with 300 in Germany, and include support for facilities like South Africa’s Netcare network of 44 hospitals.
With the new funding, TCC aims to strengthen its digital offerings and further optimise hospital processes, helping alleviate healthcare system pressures and maintain high-quality care standards. “The fresh capital will enable us to continue our dynamic growth trajectory and tap into substantial new markets,” adds David Barg, TCC’s co-founder.
Investment Vision in Healthcare
Captain Thomas Pötzsch, known for his strategic investments through CTP.BIZ, has a record of healthcare-focused ventures, including partnerships with the University Medical Centre Hamburg-Eppendorf and Philips. His commitment to TCC aligns with CTP.BIZ’s goals of addressing healthcare demands through innovation.
“This is where TCC will offer people added value and security with its AI-driven monitoring systems. At the same time, the demographic gaps in hospitals can be closed and resources optimised with the telemedical approach. We were so impressed by the idea and the development status of TCC that we will be supporting TCC with our commitment over the next few years,” explains Captain Thomas Pötzsch.
Founded by Prof. Dr. Christian Storm and David Barg, TCC is pushing the boundaries of digital healthcare by providing tele-ICU solutions that address the evolving needs of modern healthcare settings. With this latest investment, the company is well-positioned to make a meaningful impact on ICU care.
