Latvian startup BeTriton has successfully raised €80,000 from 150 investors through its equity crowdfunding campaign on Crowdcube. Specializing in electro-mobility solutions, BeTriton develops innovative amphibious bicycle campers that blend boating, cycling, and camping into a single versatile vehicle. The funds will be allocated to expand production for their three models: the BeTriton Full, BeTriton Trailer, and BeTriton eTrailer. Each model caters to different needs, from premium camping experiences to eco-friendly solar-powered options.
BeTriton’s origins trace back to Aigars Lauzis’s ambitious cycling journey from London to Tokyo, which spanned over 30,000 kilometers. During this trip, Lauzis developed the idea for a unique amphibious camper. After completing his journey and returning to Latvia, he established ZELTINI Studio in 2018 to bring his concept to fruition.
The company has since progressed from initial prototypes to market-ready models. BeTriton’s product development has been marked by the introduction of various iterations, including the BeTriton 1.0 and the BeTriton eTrailer, which features a solar panel. The company has achieved several milestones, including the opening of rental locations and securing commercial sales, supported by grants and investments.
“There isn’t a product on the market that combines these three functions: a tiny camper, electric boat and electric bicycle. There is a gap between expensive yachts and small inflatable boats,” BeTriton CEO Aigars Lauzis told Zag Daily. “We offer a product that doesn’t require any licences, doesn’t burn anything, and doesn’t require marina fees to be paid. No additional vehicles are needed to move this around, and no towing is needed either. It’s a more sustainable way to travel both over land and water.”
