Stockholm-based startup Arkion, previously known as Skyqraft, has successfully raised $4 million to enhance its AI-driven software designed for inspecting overhead power lines. This Stockholm-based company is on a mission to transform the energy sector by providing innovative solutions for power grid maintenance and management. The recent funding round was spearheaded by Subvenio Invest, with additional backing from Neptunia Invest and Antler. This financial boost is set to propel Arkion’s growth within the energy infrastructure sector, which is under increasing pressure due to the demands placed by AI data centers across Europe.
Arkion’s cutting-edge platform leverages data from various sources such as images, thermal sensors, and lidar technology. This data is then processed to generate detailed insights regarding the condition and health of power grids, covering a spectrum from low to high voltage. The platform aims to make access to this critical information seamless, catering specifically to the needs of the power grid industry.
Louise Gauffin, CEO of Arkion, states to eeNews Europe, “Resilient and sustainable grid infrastructure is essential for societies as we charge towards an electrified future. This new funding will enable us to accelerate growth, enhance our product offerings, and expand our services to include critical infrastructure like substations, transforming the way we care for our power grids and building a grid fit for a net-zero future.
Oscar Westergård, Partner at Antler, expressed his enthusiasm about Arkion’s progress, saying, “We are incredibly proud to be part of the continued growth of one of our first portfolio companies in the Nordics. Their work is crucial in facilitating the energy transition by equipping power grids with the insights needed to maintain and expand their infrastructure.”
With this new infusion of capital, Arkion plans to bolster its product development efforts, aiming to increase technical scalability and expand its market presence to meet the rising demand. Arkion’s AI platform offers a comprehensive solution, providing grid owners with the visibility and actionable insights necessary to maintain and improve their physical assets.
As Arkion continues to innovate and grow, it stands poised to play a crucial role in the future of energy infrastructure, ensuring a reliable and sustainable power grid for the electrified world ahead.
