Eric Idema, the CEO of EQOM Group and EasyToys, has announced his decision to step down from his position after 17 years of service.
Based out of Groningen, the Netherlands, EasyToys is an online webshop offering a wide variety of lifestyle products aimed at adult consumers.
Effective 1st July, he will be passing on his baton to his successor, Marc van Boven.
However, Eric will maintain his involvement as a shareholder and member of the advisory board for both companies.
Marc van Boven takes over as CEO
Marc van Boven has a lot of experience in international retail and e-commerce. He has been involved in the growth of companies like Weleda, Omega Pharma, and Reckitt Benckiser, which produces brands like Strepsils, Clearasil, and Durex.
“In recent years, my colleagues and I have achieved a great deal. I never thought that me and EasyToys would get this far when I started. I had to think about it for a long time, but I think it’s wise to leave at the peak. The company is entering a new phase and with it comes a different expertise,” Idema says in a LinkedIn post.
Moving forward, Eric will continue to be active in the business world as an investor and advisor for e-commerce companies.
Additionally, he plans to share his knowledge through lectures, with the proceeds from these activities being dedicated to charitable causes.
