Italian-British nuclear energy startup newcleo, a company that the founder Stefano Buono heads, raised 87 million euros out of the 1 billion round that opened in 2023 (see here a previous post by BeBeez). The company said it expects to raise a further tranche in the mid term without disclosing the investors’ names. Rumours say that newcleo attracted the resources of Viaro Energy and Tosto Group.
Italian proptech Wikicasa acquired 51% of Dokicasa, an AI and ML-based provider of technical solutions for the real estate sector that Nicolò Martucci and Christian Cannata founded (see here a previous post by BeBeez). Pietro Pellizzari (10.01% owner) is the ceo of Wikicasa which also belongs to realtor netwowrks Gruppo Gabetti (30.17%), Tecnocasa Group (30.17%), Antlia Software (11.07%), Proximm (5.77%), Tempocasa Holding (5.77%), 24Finance Mediazione Creditizia (1.03%), and further minority shareholders. Wikicasa has sales of 2.8 million euros, an ebitda of minus 1.17 million, net cahs of 1 million, and equity of 1 million.
Open Venture poured resources in BlockInvest, a platform that Italian fintech RealHouse developed (see here a previous post by BeBeez). Lorenzo Rigatti (ceo), Massimo Calogiuri, Alfredo Malgrati, Fabrizio Ciciani, Fabio Pacchioni, Davide Baldi, and Rossano Petrucci are the founders of RealHouse. In 2021, the company joined the acceleration programme Le Village by CA Milano – Crédit Agricole.
Exor Ventures and Claris Ventures launched LeverBio, a platform for investing in innovative drugs and developing an Italian ecosystem (see here a previous post by BeBeez). Noam Ohana is the managing director of Exor Ventures. Pietro Puglisi, Ciro Spedaliere and Michael Hodges are the founders of Claris Ventures which raised 85 million euros in 2021.
Arxax, a cleantech startup for the reduction of heavy vehicles’ CO2 emissions, attracted 0.393 million euros from Invitalia‘s programme Smart&Start which received the support of NextGenerationEU (see here a previous post by BeBeez). Arxax belongs to Milan-listed Zest and will invest such proceeds in launching H2LLO Smart, a facility for environmentally friendly refuelling in road transport. Elham Hassanzadeh founded Arxax in 2021.
