Neva First, a venture capital fund of Intesa SanPaolo Innovation Center, joined a series D round of 100 million US Dollars of Israeli’s cybersecurity Coro that One Peak led (see here a previous post by BeBeez). Coro also attracted the resources of Energy Impact Partners and Balderton Capital. Neva First received assistance from Portolano Cavallo. Guy Moskowitz is the ceo of Coro.
Boem, an Italian startup operating in the ready-to-drink sector, said it raised 3 million euros from LMDV Capital of Leonardo Maria Del Vecchio which purchased 54% of the target (see here a previous post by BeBeez). Zedef (the investment holding of Italian rapper Fedez and of the Bernabei Family) will keep 43% of Boem, while Italian singer Jacopo Lazzarini will have 3%. The company appointed Edoardo Tribuzio as ceo and Matteo Giannetti as cmo. Boem will invest such proceeds in its international expansion.
Primo Space, an investor in new space economy that Primo Venture (fka Primomiglio) manages, poured resources in Lithium Lasers and Ecosmic (see here a previous post by BeBeez). Lithium Lasers, a producer of devices for optics and biophotonics, raised 2 million euros (1.5 million from Primo Space and 0.5 million from 360 Capital Partners) and will invest such proceeds in its organic growth. Alessandro Greborio founded the company in 2019. Lithium Lasers received the incubation support of PoliHub in 2021. Primo Space also poured 1.1 million in Ecosmic, a startup born in The Netherlands and that later moved its headquarter in Turin. Benedetta Margrethe Cattani (ceo and cto), Gaia Roncalli (coo) and Imane Marouf (cco) founded the company which provides software for satellites. Ecosmic will invest the raised proceeds in its organic development and proprietary technology.
Glaut, a provider of surveying tools in support of corporate decision-making that Matteo Cera and Giovanni del Gallo created in 2023, raised 1.4 million US Dollars (1.3 million euros) of pre-seed resources (see here a previous post by BeBeez). The company attracted the resources of Italian Founders Fund (lead investor), Brainstorm Ventures, Alecla7, Ithaca, BHeroes, Club degli Investitori, Eden Ventures, Delirus Capital, David Clarke, Pietro Cesati, and other investors.
Qromo, an Italian foodtech that ceo Francesco Basile co-founded in 2020, raised resources in the region of one million euros on the ground of an enterprise value of 8 million (see here a previous post by BeBeez). The company attracted the resources of LCA Venture, CTR Holding, Luca Marras, Ludovico Molossi, and further private investors, family offices and angel investors. Qromo will invest such resources in its organic growth.
French edutech Edflex acquired Italian competitor OfCourseMe from Davide Conforti and Francesco Carante that will keep their operative roles (see here a previous post by BeBeez). Philippe Riveron is the founder and chairman of Edflex.
Berkeley SkyDeck Europe-Milano (an acceleration programme of Berkeley University, UC Berkeley SkyDeck, Cariplo Factory, Lendlease, Lombardy Region, and Fondazione Cariplo) poured 1.3 million euros in nine startups (see here a previous post by BeBeez). The companies that attracted such resources are: Audemic.io (UK – a provider of AI-based solutions for learning optimization); Distinkt (Spain – a developer of nanotech-based inks); INRO (France – a provider of AI-based direct marketing tools); Kfobix (USA; Delaware – a developer of waterproof coatings); Klaaryo (Italy a HRtech business); MON5 (Italy -a cybersecurity company); Ochy (France a provider of AI-based biomechanic solutions); Plino (Italy – a provider of Gen-AI-based software for corporate decision making); Supplai (Italy – a platform for allowing SMEs to optimize their supply cycles).
On 29 April, Monday, Start Cup 2023 (the competition that the Lombardy Region launched with Milano-Bicocca University, Milan Polytechnic, Bocconi University and Università degli Studi di Milano, the Lombardy University Incubators, and public-private ecosystem Multilayered Urban Sustainability Action – MUSA) started to accept the applications of companies that want to access the facilities for for the equity crowdfunding campaigns that will eventually be conducted by the finalist or semi-finalist start-ups of accedere alle agevolazioni previste per le campagne di equity crowdfunding (see here a previous post by BeBeez). Startups that will reach the semi-final or the final round of the competition can apply for a Finlombarda‘s warranty of up to 0.25 million euros for the investors that will pour resources in equity crowdfunding campaigns on Opstart. The warranty will cover up to 50% of losses in equity. The competition winners Displaid, Monimeds, RarEarth, Simba, and the recipients of special awards PCART, Visioning and Vagusflex will get access to such facilities.
Supernova Hub, the corporate venture builder of ITLM, invested a total of 30 million since its birth in 2015 (see here a previous post by BeBeez). Federico Pozzi Chiesa, the ceo of ITLM, is the founder of Supernova Hub. The aggregate revenues of the portfolio companies amount to 91 million.
