Assemblio, a software company that helps to intelligently plan assembly and generate fully automatic assistance systems for production, has completed a €2.1 million seed funding round. The lead investor is LEA Partners, joined by Mätch VC, Cross Atlantic Angels, Silver Scale, and Integra, as well as other business angels.
The investor association is focusing on the beginning of a new era of assembly planning for companies in every sector. The DACH region alone has over 150,000 manufacturing companies with their own product development. The state of the art has been at the same level for more than 30 years. Companies in the automotive industry, medical technology, or mechanical engineering are all facing a major challenge: outdated, cost-intensive, and manual assembly planning that requires an enormous amount of staff and time.
The Assemblio team plans to use the fresh capital to expand further and drive forward product development. The big goal is to make assembly processes easier, faster, and more cost-efficient. “Our focus is on simplicity, and we strive to make company integration as straightforward as possible. That’s why we are passionate and energetic about actively shaping the future of assembly planning,” said Dr. Alexander Neb, CEO of Assemblio.
Assemblio offers an AI-based software solution for time- and cost-efficient assembly planning. Its Assembly Information Models reduce the planning effort from weeks and months to a matter of minutes, actively contributing to cost reduction. This has already convinced various large industrial customers such as Krones and Bosch. Numerous well-known investors are investing in the series seed.
Following its market launch at the Motek assembly trade fair in Stuttgart at the end of 2023, the Stuttgart-based Startup Assemblio led by Alexander Neb, Jens Popper, Florian Strieg, and Greg Rauhöft
Assemblio brings to the table a software that helps companies and assembly planners plan their assembly quicker, more simply, and digitally without having to create documents themselves. Using simple drag-and-drop, the CAD file of the product is disassembled digitally, and assembly plans are created automatically. Assemblio brings engineers and the shop floor closer together. The technology itself was developed and tested at Fraunhofer IPA over many years.
The Assembly Composer software tool automatically generates assembly plans in various formats such as PDF or video, as well as interactive 3D step-by-step instructions as an Assistant, and is already being used by medium-sized industrial companies and large corporations. From manufacturers of systems and machines for packaging to industrial technology. Well-known companies such as Krones and Bosch have already recognized the value and are relying on future assembly planning with Assemblio.
Nils Seele, Partner at LEA Partners, added: “Assemblio’s product speaks for itself. Generating assembly plans in minutes instead of weeks is a game changer for every manufacturing company. We are delighted to support the team in their mission.”
Jens Horstmann will be the first team member to join the advisory board. With over 35 years of Silicon Valley experience, he comented the international potential: “The powerful potential of Assemblio’s revolutionary deep tech and almost unlimited application possibilities calls for rapid expansion into the US market! Our international team is already working on this and will set important milestones this year!”
