Sealence, an Italian scaleup for marine propulsion systems, raised 7,5 million euros in equity, debt and grant (see here a previous post by BeBeez). Sealence will invest such resources in R&D and by 2032 it will allocate further 54 million to capex. Since its foundation, the company raised 16.5 million and invested 9 million in R&D.
Kairos Ventures ESG One, a vehicle of Kairos Partners, led the 4 million euros round that Underscore District, an accelerator for the luxury and fashion sectors, sources said to BeBeez (see here a previous post by BeBeez). Underscore District is born in 2021 and will invest the raised proceeds in further companies to accelerate. Underscore District already poured resources in Piumestudio (a maker of women shoes born in 2021), WOK Store (retailer), Magliano (fashion brand), and GR10K. Edoardo Di Luzio and Alfonso Meccariello are the ceo and cofounder and cio of Underscore District.
Voidless, a deep tech startup for the packaging sector, raised 2.2 million euros from CDP Venture Capital and 360 Capital (see here a previous post by BeBeez). Dentons assisted CDP while Galaw – Giovannelli e Associati advised 360 Capital. Voidless retained Startuplegal. In 2022, ceo Carlo Villani, cfo Mattia Bertolani, coo Guglielmo Riva, and cto Daniel Kaidanovic founded Voidless. The company will invest such resources in its organic growth.
Sense4Med, a pharma start up, attracted 0.51 million euros from Scientifica Venture Capital and Lazio Innova‘s Innova Venture (see here a previous post by BeBeez). Fabiana Arduini is the ceo of Sense4Med and is part of World Top 2% Scientists 2023 lists of Stanford University.
Collecto, an Italian platform for buying stakes in luxury items, attracted 0.75 million euros from Matteo Barcella, Marco Bragadin, Camillo Candia, Manlio Costantini, Paola Galbiati, Stefano Gnocchi, Mark Iuliano, Giacomo Lorusso, Andrea Manfredi, Enrico Troianiello, Marco Morfino, Vincenzo Colarocco, Giovanni Alessi, and Marco Valioni (see here a previous post by BeBeez). Giovanni Camisasca, Matteo Costantini and Salvatore Zola founded the company in 2023. Collecto will invest such proceeds in its organic growth.
Barberino’s, the Italian barbers shop chain that Michele Callegari and Niccolò Bencini founded, opened a shop in New York’s iconic Madison Avenue (see here a previous post by BeBeez). The founders own 54.64% of the business. Growth Engine (14.39%) and Numenor I (7.95%) are further shareholders of Barberino which has sales of 3.3 million euros with equity of 3.1 million.
Sella Venture Partners, part of Sella, launched Sella Venture Partners Fund of Funds which set a fundraising target of 100 million euros (see here a previous post by BeBeez). The vehicle will invest in more than 20 venture funds based in Europe and USA that focus on technology and life science through primary and secondary market deals.
Berkeley SkyDeck Europe-Milano, an acceleration programme that in Berkeley University, UC Berkeley SkyDeck, Cariplo Factory, and Lendlease launched its call for startups (see here a previous post by BeBeez). In 2022, Lombardy Region, and Fondazione Cariplo signed a three year agreement for supporting the programme with 1.25 million and 1.5 million euros. The deadline for application is 14 February, Wednesday, (see here theil link). Berkeley SkyDeck, Cariplo Factory and Lendlease will select 10 startups that will go thourh a 6-months programme starting in May 2024.
