Global law firm White & Case LLP has advised Adrian Binks, chairman and chief executive of the Argus Media Group, a leading independent provider of intelligence to the global energy and commodity markets, on a strategic agreement to support its next phase of growth.
Mr Binks, along with General Atlantic, a leading global growth investor and existing Argus minority shareholder, will each consolidate their stakes in Argus, with General Atlantic and Argus itself acquiring shares from current minority shareholder, Hg. As a result of the transaction, Mr Binks will become the majority shareholder of Argus.
Founded in 1970 and headquartered in London, Argus is an independent media organisation with 29 offices and more than 1,300 staff in the world’s principal commodity trading hubs.
General Atlantic is a global growth investor with more than four decades of experience providing capital and strategic support for over 500 growth companies throughout its history.
Hg is a private equity firm targeting technology buyouts primarily in Europe and the US.
