HMA Capital, a global private equity for special situations, acquired Alfatherm, an Italian producer of films in pvc, from Opengate Capital which acquired the asset in 2016 (see here a previous post by BeBeez). Investis Advisory assisted Alfatherm and Open Gate Capital. Studio Inzitari and Studio De Berti Jacchia advised HMA. Giovanardi Studio Legale and LMS Studio Legale assisted the financial creditors of Alfatherm, which has sales of 100 million euros. Francesco Trovato is the ceo of the company.
Werther International, Apac and Sicam, the Italian subsidiaries of German Base (Beissbarth Automotive Service Equipment), a company that Stargate Capital acquired through its portfolio company Leviticus Industries, called off talks with Pillarstone (see here a previous post by BeBeez). The three companies are now in receivership and hired BonelliErede as legal advisor. Creditor must receive a restructuring plan by 8 March 2024 and decide whether to accept it by 5 April 2024. Chiara Mazzetti, Danilo Galletti and Roberto Cassani are the company’s extraordinary commissioners.
At the end of 1H23, the amount of NPEs on the books of Italian banks was worth 56 billion euros (21.1 billion NPLs, 30.5 billion UTP and 4.4 of written off positions) said a report of PwC (see here the biannual sector report) (see here a previous post by BeBeez). The NPE deals on the primary and secondary market in 2023 amounted to 12.3 billion (31.7 billion in 2022). The NPE Report of BeBeez (available for the subscribers to BeBeez News Premium and BeBeez Private Data) said that market participants closed transaction worth 6.2 billion between January and July 2023 (35 billion in 2022 – see here BeBeez Report NPL 2022).
