Italian startups D-Orbit, 3Bee and Nano-Tech will received the resoources of the European Innovation Council‘s 350 million euros worth call for grants and equity (see here a previous post by BeBeez). The EIC Accelerator can issue grants of up to 2.5 million for each startup and provide equity tickets of 0.5 – 15 million. Italian agri-tech 3Bee attracted a 2.3 million grant (Grant first) and will invest such resources in expanding its operations in Italy, France, Germany, and Spain. D-Orbit, a space logistic scaleup that Luca Rossettini and Renato Panesi founded in 2011, applied for a 2.5 million grant and an equity ticket of 15 million for financing the project Autonomous Spacecraft Technology for Repair Operations, Lifespan Improvement and Flight Testing (Astrolift). Sources said to BeBeez that the company is also raising further resources and attracted written expressions of interest from international firms and financial investors. Nano-Tech, an advanced materials company received a grant of undisclosed amount for its organic development. Donato Giovannelli, Patricia Barcala Domìnguez and Valerio Alessi founded the company in 2011.
Milan-listed insuredr Generali launched Generali Ventures, a fund with resources of 250 million euros that will target insurtech and fintech firms (see here a previous post by BeBeez). The fund already invested in Mundi Ventures, Speedinvest and Dawn. Generali Ventures is part of Generali’s strategic plan Lifetime Partner 24: Driving Growth which aims to pour 1.1 billion for the company’s digital transformation. Bruno Scaroni is the Group Chief Transformation Officer.
Eliospower, a subsidiary of Milan-listed investment holding Innovatec, and Israeli’s Agri-Light Energy Systems, a startup that received the support of Tel Aviv-listed Prime Energy and owns the proprietary technology for agrivoltaic electric energy Smart Agri-PV, signed a partnership for building renewable energy plants in Italy (see here a previous post by BeBeez). Pietro Colucci is the ceo of Innovatec.
Spesati, an Italian online grocery that ceo Mario Sanciu founded in 2017, attracted the resources of trade buyer Abbi Group and other investors for undisclosed resources (see here a previous post by BeBeez). The company said it aims to raise further resources for supporting its organic growth. Michael Tremante is a shareholder and Chief Technology Officer of Spesati.
