Copenhagen-based startup Responsibly has secured $2.4 million in a seed funding, with leading investments from Hambro Perks and Pi Labs, as well as support from Global Founders Capital, AENU, Michael Wax, and Benedikt Franke. The platform aids businesses in assessing the sustainability of their suppliers and reducing the costs associated with data compliance by using AI to analyze various sustainability criteria such as carbon emissions, gender pay equality, human rights, and deforestation. This funding will enable Responsibly to expand its operations and further refine its platform, advancing its mission to promote responsible supply chains and make sustainable procurement accessible through AI and automation technologies.
Responsibly provides a platform for businesses to assess the sustainability of their suppliers and reduce data compliance costs. They use artificial intelligence (AI) to analyze various sustainability factors such as carbon emissions, gender pay gap, human rights, and deforestation. The platform then generates supplier sustainability data scores for its customers. Responsibly’s goal is to make supply chains more responsible and accessible through the use of AI and automation technologies. Some of their clients include CERN and Chr. Hansen, and they serve as a one-stop-shop for responsible supplier data from multiple sources, simplifying the procurement process for businesses.
“Our mission is to make every b2b purchase in the world truly sustainable and ethically responsible by leveraging cutting-edge AI-driven technology. As more buyers push suppliers for sustainability data to achieve scope 3 targets or regulatory compliance, we want companies to spend less time manually collecting sustainability data – which is completely unscalable – so they can focus on actually making an impact where it matters the most by building a more sustainable supply chain which complies with increasing regulation,” says Responsibly’s founder and CEO, Thomas Buch Andersson. “The funding from Hambro Perks and Pi Labs will allow us to further invest in our proprietary AI engine, so we can expand our functionality to capture more data types, democratising access to sustainable procurement.”
