Startup in Residence Intergov (SiR Intergov), on Monday, September 4, announced that it has collaborated with The Next Web, a globally renowned platform that informs, inspires, and brings together people with a passion for tech and innovation.
The announcement came as The Next Web (TNW) won the tender for the innovation program for startups and the government.
Niels Sipkema, Delivery Director at TNW Programs, says, “We are more than excited to embark on this collaborative adventure with the Dutch government and together make a real impact on urgent challenges.”
TNW to co-create between startup & government
As a training partner of the programme, TNW guides the co-creation between startup and government for 5 months for each edition, from kick-off to the presentation of a prototype.
The official inauguration was kicked off at the Province of South Holland, one of the initiators of Startup in Residence Intergov (SiR Intergov).
The 11 winning startups of the 7th edition were introduced at a kick-off event.
The relevant officials from the participating organisations were present:
- Municipality of The Hague,
- Province of South Holland and the Ministries of Economic Affairs and Climate, Agriculture, Nature and Food Quality,
- Social Affairs and Employment,
- the Interior and Kingdom Relations.
Startups and governments will co-create solutions under The Next Web’s guidance.
Startup in Residence Intergov
Startup in Residence Intergov (SiR Intergov) is an innovation program in which governments collaborate with startups.
In this program, governments invite startups and SMEs to pitch innovative solutions for social challenges, and the best ideas are selected.
Over 5 months, entrepreneurs and the government will go through the program together to develop this idea into a scalable solution in co-creation.
Maarten van Koolwijk, program manager of SiR Intergov, says, “We are very confident that The Next Web will organize a training program with which we can even further increase the social impact of collaboration between startups and the government.”
