Impact measurement startup leonardo has successfully raised €555K in a pre-seed funding round led by Beteiligungs-Managementgesellschaft Hessen (BM H), a local Hessen-based investor, reflecting the region’s commitment to fostering innovation. leonardo is proud to have BM H as a lead investor, highlighting their belief in the vision and potential impact of the startup.
In addition to BM H, leonardo has secured the support of eight mission-driven Business Angels. These individuals not only contribute financially but also provide valuable expertise across various industries including. tech entrepreneurship, impact measurement, sales, software engineering and others.
This investment will accelerate leonardo’s mission to disrupt the status quo of sustainability reporting through their AI-powered software. leonardo’s Deep Impact Intelligence enables impact investors and their portfolio companies to measure real effects on people and the planet, focusing on the Global South.
“We need to develop better and easier-to-use technology built upon scientific standards so that sustainability data can be trusted again,” said Jan Moellmann, CEO of leonardo.
With this funding secured, leonardo is well-positioned for growth and innovation in the impact measurement field, driving positive change for its clients.
“We are very happy about the team of vision-aligned and experienced investors, especially given the difficulty startups are facing in the current market to secure funding. It underscores the importance of impact measurement, serving the needs of capital providers, and impact-driven businesses seeking to make a difference,” added Stephan Groß, from BM H.
Founded in 2022, leonardo’s software service enables organizations and their capital providers to measure, verify and report their sustainability impact, according to recognised global standards. leonardo goes deeper than traditional ESG solutions by focusing on organizations’ effects on people and the planet. By making a real impact measurement accessible and affordable to businesses, the entire sustainable development sector will be able to better track and allocate resources towards their most impactful products and services.
