US-based GlobalLogic, a product development services company that specialises in chip-to-cloud software engineering, announced on Monday, July 10, that it has acquired Sidero, an Irish software services company.
Founded in 2013, Sidero is a provider of engineering services and cloud-native software development with a strong focus on the communications industry.
As a partner of Amazon Web Services, Sidero uses Cloud Native to develop, deploy, and manage software that takes advantage of the adaptability of cloud computing, i.e., providing apps that consumers desire at the speed that businesses want.
Carmel Owens, CEO of Sidero, says, “GlobalLogic has long been recognised for its digital engineering prowess, unique and diverse employee culture, as well as a delighted community of clients. We are excited about the synergies that will be created by our combined organisations, and we look forward to providing differentiated capabilities and enhanced value to our customers in Ireland and across the globe.”
The acquisition is scheduled to conclude in the second half of 2023.
Aim of this acquisition
With this deal, Hitachi Group-owned GlobalLogic hopes to strengthen its position in the communications technology market and increase its footprint in Ireland.
Sidero’s proficiency with technologies such as Radio Access Networks (RAN), Self-Optimising Networks (SON), Cloud, and Agile development methodologies is an addition to GlobalLogic’s technical portfolio.
Nitesh Banga, President and CEO of GlobalLogic, says, “Our deep roots in Communications technology are a perfect complement to Sidero’s expertise and competencies. With our combined strengths, we will bring tremendous value to our mutual clients and further enhance our leadership in this and other highly dynamic verticals.”
After the acquisition, Sidero will continue to operate as a fully owned subsidiary of GlobalLogic under its current management and workforce.
