Stockholm-based Tibber, a smart energy provider, announced on Tuesday an interoperability partnership with Wallbox, a provider of electric vehicle (EV) charging and energy management solutions.
This collaboration aims to promote the adoption of smart charging solutions with dynamic energy rates, ultimately enabling significant cost savings for consumers.
Under this partnership, Tibber customers in the Netherlands and Sweden who own a Wallbox AC home charger can now use the Tibber app to charge their EVs during periods of low-cost energy.
Tibber’s energy contracts are based on dynamic energy rates, meaning consumers pay for the current hourly electricity purchase price.
When using the Tibber app, the charging session will automatically start during lowest prices times.
Users can gain accurate insights into their energy consumption at any moment.
According to the Swedish company’s research released in March 2023, EV drivers can save up to 50% on charging costs by using dynamic rates.
Wallbox and Tibber will collaborate on July 4, 2023, starting with the Netherlands and Sweden.
The Tibber app will facilitate smart charging functionality across all Wallbox AC chargers, including the renowned Pulsar family. This represents Wallbox’s top-selling charger globally.
