Irish Medtronic, a medtech firm in which BlackStone Life Sciences and other international funds invested, paid 925 million US Dollars for acquiring the whole of Boston-based competitor Affera from founder and ceo Doron Harlev (see here a previous post by BeBeez). Italy’s venture capital firm Innogest Capital sold the stake in the target that acquired in January 2021. Bain Capital Life Sciences, Elysia Capital, BetaAngels Management, and Norwich Ventures also sold their stakes in Affera.
In 2021, Italian venture capital fund 360 Capital Partners closed 11 new investments and 13 exits in 2021 (see here a previous post by BeBeez). The list of the portfolio companies of 360 Capital includes Regate, Kampaay, Enspired, C12 Quantum Electronic, Beem Energy, Wakeo, Unseeenlabs, Energy Dome. The fund divested its stakes in Innoviz, Sophia Genetics, Arbe Robotics (all listed on Nasdaq), Bergamotte (Bloom&Wild acquired it), Tiler Systems (sold to SumUp); Tediber, Qapa (Adecco). In 2021, the nav of 360 Capital has been of above one billion euros. The company hired senior associate Thomas Nivard and the analyst Clara Cornu and promoted Selma Gasc and Lucrezia Lucotti as associates. The fund is reportedly going to launch the Spac 360 Disruptech EU, a Paris-listed vehicle with resources of 250 million euros that would target European tech firms with an equity value of 1 – 4 billion
Tinaba, an Italian fintech startup that Sator Private Equity Fund created in 2015, launched a 30 million euros capital increase for financing its organic growth (see here a previous post by BeBeez). Tinaba’s shareholders will be able to subscribe the capital increase in the next 12 months. The firm belongs to Sator (85%) and Milan-listed Banca Profilo. Tinaba has losses of 6 million and equity of 12.7 million.
Poke House, an Italian fast-food chain, acquired Sweetfin from the founders Seth Cohen, Alan Nathan, Brett Nestadt, and Dakota Weiss (See here a previous post by BeBeez). Matteo Pichi, is the cofounder and ceo of Poke House who has sales of above 40 million euros.
Eni Gas e Luce raised to 36% its stake in Tate, a vendor of reneawable energy of which acquired 20% in 2020 (see here a previous post by BeBeez). Matteo Riffeser Monti, Micael Saillin, Alexander Frizzi, and Mattia Lobertini are the founders of Tate. Nana Bianca provided the incubation support. Tate has sales of 1.7 million euros, an ebitda of minus 0.426 million and net cash of 0.983 million.
Beexlab, a company that developed Albicchiere a system for delivering glasses of wine, raised 710k euros from business angels, Sici (Sviluppo Imprese Centro Italia) and Gepafin, a financial firm of which Umbria Region has 54% and 11 banks have 46% (See here a previous post by BeBeez). Beexlab was born in 2017. Sici has resources of 148 million euros
Pariter Partners, a syndicate network platform for investing in the deep-tech sector, poured resources in Swiss Komp-Act, a startup that Salvatore De Benedictis founded in 2018 for helping industrial machinery producers in the implementation of hybrid or electric solutions (see here a previous post by BeBeez). Matteo Elli and Jari Ognibeni are the founders of Pariter Partners who already invested 0.520 million euros since 2012.
Italian software developer Eco-Mind acquired HeadApp from Maurizio Cheli (see here a previous post by BeBeez). HeadApp is a developer of integrated platforms for wearable items.
Recrowd, an Italian platform for real estate lending crowdfunding of which Esperia Investor has a stake, signed a partnership with Spezia Calcio, an Italian football club that belongs to Robert Platek (see here a previous post by BeBeez). Recrowd will be the new premium partner and back jersey sponsor of the team. until 2023. Gianluca De Simone (ceo) founded Recrowd in 2019 together with Simone Putignano (cfo) and Massimo Traversi (coo).
Doorway, an Italian equity crowdfunding platform, and Levante Capital, an Italian fund that supports the development of Italian and European tech firms in Asia, signed a partnership (see here a previous post by BeBeez). The investors in Doorway’s campaigns will be able to pour resources in Levante’s assets. Italian startups InsilicoTrials and Inxpect are part of the fund’s portfolio. Edoardo Agamennone, Francesco Lorenzini and Francesco Rossi founded Levante in 2021.
