The Italian ecosystem for startups sparkles interest from both financial investors and industry peers
BiovelocITA, the first Italian accelerator with a focus on biotech companies, invested 680k euros in Amypopharma, a biochemistry and nanomedicine startup that spun-off from Milan University Bicocca (see here a previous post by BeBeez). Amypopharma’s licences portfolio has a focus on nanoparticles for the Alzheimer care and includes trademark Amyposomes®. Massimo Masserini and Francesca Re founded the company.
Axyon AI, an Italian deep-learning based fintech startup for the capital markets and asset management sectors, raised 1.3 million of euros from ING Ventures, UniCredit, and further business angels (see here a previous post by BeBeez).Daniele Grassi founded the company that recently signed a partnership with Thomson Reuters’ Refinitiv, IBM, and Nvidia.
MioAssicuratore, an online insurance broker that Giorgio Campagnano and Carlo Martini founded in 2015, raised 1.5 million euros from Innogest Capital and Pi Campus (see here a previous post by BeBeez). H-Farm, Vito Lomele, the founder of staffing business Jobrapido, and Pi Campus previously provided a 0.3 million seed capital investment in MioAssicuratore, which leverages on a proprietary machine learning technology.
