Francesco Trapani and Maurizio Bottinelli are Clessidra sgr’s new chairman and new ceo, respectively. Clessidra sgr’s Board of Directors decided yesterday after the Italian private equity firm’s founder Claudio Sposito passed away a few days ago (see here a previous post by BeBeez).
Mr. Trapani had been Clessidra’s vice executive chairman and operating partner since now while Mr. Bottinelli had been chief of the investment team. Clessidra’s managment team remains the same then, with the two top managers who will keep on working together with the other two senior partners Riccardo Bruno and Manuel Catalano.
The new governance,Clessidra said in a press release yesterday (download here the press release), “has been drawn in full respect of what Claudio Sposito himself previewed and shared”. The private equity firm hasd an enviable track record for its first two funds Clessidra Capital Partners I (820 million euros) and II (1.1 billions) and it is still in fundraising for its third fund with a 1-1.1 billion euros target. So it was quite crucial to give actual and potential investors a sign of strong continuity and committement with the management approach that the firm had been adopting till now.
