Lifebrain ag, an Austria-based investment company with long-term focus on the laboratory diagnostics sector all over Europe, announced yesterday the acquisition of Centro di Diagnostica Clinica Dott. E. Quarantelli srl, an Italian diagnostic lab headquartered in Portici (Naples), from is unique shareholder and founder Fabrizio Quarantelli.
Lifebrain was supported by Latham & Watkins and Gianni, Origoni,Grippo, Cappelli & Partners law firms as for legal issues, while Mr. Quarantelli was advised by Simmons & Simmons law firm.
This is the last deal of a series in Italy for Lifebrain. Last February Lifebrain actually bought the Salus analisys lab in Ladispoli (Rome) from the Alabiso family and some weeks before the Austrian private equity had bought Euromedical & Lab in Bologna and Biomedica in the Puglia region. Back in May 2014 Lifebrain had bought the Guidonia group, a leading group active close to Rome made of seven companies employing 200 people.
Lfebrain was founded by the co-founders of FutureLAB together with several Austrian private investors. Lifebrain’s acquisition and investment targets are mainly small and medium-sized laboratory diagnostics service providers in Europe.
