Italy-based digital music startup Sounday acquired Soundtracker, a US developer of mobile application for music streaming based on geo-social networking  (download here the press release)..
Launched in 2009 in San Francisco, Soundtracker currently has partnerships with Google, Amazon, Ford and Toyota, and 1.3 million registered users, of which 60% are located in the United States and UK. The service, available in many languages, offers a  catalogue of over 32 million music tracks on stores like iOS App Store, Android Google Play, Windows Phone Store, Windows store, Google Glass, BlackBerry World, Samsung Apps, Amazon Appstore, Nook and Samsung Smart TV.
Headquartered in Cagliari (Sardinia) and founded by ceo Giuseppe Ravello in 2009, Sounday operates a a web and mobile platform that offers publishing and marketing solutions and services to all those who are active in the music world.
Back in 2009 Sounday received a 2 million euro funding by Principia II fund (managed by Italian venture capital operator Principia sgr) after a seed investment by Digital Investments. In november 2013 the company announced the acquisition of Kiver Digital srl, an Italian online distributing platform of musical contents founded by Gianluca Perrelli, ceo, and supervised by angel investor Alessandro Vannucci (iDooo).
