AppsBuilder, a Milan-based app development platform co-founded by ceo Daniele Pelleri, acquired Paperlit, a digital publishing platform headquarterd in Menlo Park, California (download here the press release). The acquisition is expected to consolidate the development of new generation apps under AB engine newly launched brand AB engine.
Founded in 2009 by Gionata Mettifogo and Mario Mariani, Paperlit provides publishers with a platform to build, promote, and monetize multi-channel apps, bring their magazines to smartphone and access to analytics platform. It has powered more than 100 smartphone, tablet and web apps for Disney, Ferrari, Hearst Magazines, RCS and Condé Nast, among others.
The acquisitions comes few months after the company announced a new financing round of one million euros by United Ventures, an Italian venture capital fund who then joined LVenture Group, Vertis Venture and Zernike Metaventures in the capital of AppsBuilder (see here a previous post by BeBeez),
