Under the direction of Italian private equity and venture capital operator Quadrivio sgr, two of the most active company incubators are merging together, i.e. SeedLab and M31, both partecipated by Quadrivio sgr through it venture capital branch TTVenture (see a previous post by BeBeez).
SeedLab, a Milan science-based startup acceleration program whose principal partner is Matteo Faggin, was actually entirely bought by Padua based Tech incubator M31, led by chairman and co-founder Ruggero Frezza. SeedLab supported companies such as Tensive, Neuron Guard, Milky Way, WIB, SEM+, and Epinova.
M31, for Messier 31, is also known as Andromeda, our neighboring galaxy. M31 invests directly sharing the risk with the founders supporting the growth of their ventures in the global market. So far M31 has invested in new ventures that operate in different sectors: from biomedical to telecommunications, from embedded systems to software technology.
As for today M31′ portfolio companies are Si14 spa, Centervue spa, Adaptica srl, Adant srl and Unliquido srl. In support of the internationalization of its portfolio companies, and also of other hi–tech Italian companies, M31 has a branch, M31 LLC, headquartered in California, Santa Clara, in the heart of the Silicon Valley.
